Ed has been restoring vintage surfboards for the past 30 years. A complete restoration is much more work than just fixing a few dings and color matching. The process involves removing old fiberglass, save the original fin and logos, then clean up foam to its original shape. The next step is to make the foam look like new and now it’s ready to glass. Ed will use 8oz or 10oz Volan Glass, which is the same glass that was used back in the 60s. The original color, original fin and original logos will be restored and used in the process. Next the board is sanded and re-glossed and polished and now you have an original vintage surfboard that looks like new.
