Sakal is a family owned and operated business located in Downtown Huntington Beach on Main Street next to the HB Pier. Ed Sakal started building surfboards in 1969 in South Bay, Ca. He later worked for Greg Knoll, Town and Country and E.T. Surfboards. In 1984 Ed opened up his first surf shop in Huntington Beach and now owns and operates Sakal Surfboards. Sakal Surfboards are all hand shaped and built from start to finish in his own factory.

JR JohnsonIt’s been around four months since I started surfing the 9′0″ indicator that Ed shaped for me, and I just wanted to thank you for the surf. That board was a reproduction of my old one, and it works PERFECTLY. I’ve been harvesting a bunch steady stream of good waves on that thing. I got it for smaller mushier surf, but it works great in the bigger stuff too. Thanks again for a great job on this board, and keep up the good work!
